Striving to do Better for You and Nature

We are dedicated to making a difference, for Louisiana's environment and its people. It all starts with our unique GreenEarth® Cleaning process. It is safer for people and the environment because it uses no hazardous chemicals and is non-toxic to the environment. Our environmentally friendly technology is one of the many ways we try to be a better, greener dry cleaner!

What GreenEarth is Made of

GreenEarth Cleaning uses liquid silicone. Silicone is a clear, gentle, odor-less solution. It is non-toxic and non-hazardous and the EPA sees no need to regulate its use. That’s because silicone is essentially liquefied sand.

  • environmentally non-toxic
  • non-hazardous
  • odor free and colorless
  • better for longevity

Needing A Better Alternative

About 90% of dry cleaners use harmful petrochemicals to treat fabrics, the most popular being Perchloroethylene (PERC), which can be hazardous to both people and the environment.

  • Exposure can cause dizziness, headaches, fatigue, skin and eye irritation, etc
  • Creates unpleasant smelling residue which can impact those with asthma and odor sensitivities
  • Is a persistent environmental pollutant which can contaminate drinking water

But what about Hydrocarbon Solvent?

Used by about 25% of dry cleaners, hydrocarbon solvent is also a petrochemical. While a big improvement over perc, hydrocarbon is classified by the EPA as a volatile air contaminant (VOC). It is also:

  • A Neurotoxin
  • A skin and eye irritant for workers
  • Scientifically “Organic” but misleading; in describing chemicals the term “organic” refers to anything with a carbon of chain in it – you could make the same claim about cleaning with gasoline

Better for You

  • Liquid silicone is used in everyday shampoos, lotions, conditioners, and cosmetics
  • non-allergenic
  • non-irritating
  • Clothes will feel smoother and silkier
  • Colors won't change or fade

Better for Your Clothes

  • Low surface tension and lightweight, which means better penetration into fabrics and cleans more gently
  • Petroleum solvent can wear away surface fibers, but silicone is chemically inert - doesn't react with fabrics or dyes, which prevents shrinkage and color loss
  • works well on almost any fabric: silk, cashmere, wool, lace, beads, sequins, and even garments labeled "do not dry clean" are safe with us!

What's Left Behind

  • Liquid silicone degrades into sand and trace amounts of water and carbon. That's it!
  • 50+ studies have shown GreenEarth's liquid silicone solution poses no human health concern
